How to get the best out of your Pottsville Beach couples holiday
Updated: Apr 3, 2019

When planning a holiday with your significant other, the last thing you want is some issue to intrude on your parade. So, that’s where your planning skills come in. If you’re not a planner, like many people I know, just make sure you at least cover the basics below.
Ok, so you have your accommodation all booked, and all details are confirmed – yippie! Here are some tips on getting the best out of your #Pottsville #Beach #couples #holiday:
1. Liaise with owner or hotel before leaving home. Get information regarding:
Driving directions and Check-in -- Ensure that you have clear driving directions from the owner or have Googled the location, and how long the trip will take. Time is particularly important if you are checking into a Bed and Breakfast type accommodation or small owner operated establishment with set check-in times or one that has a check-in window. Personally, from an owner perspective, I like to welcome our guests on arrival, so check-in information is very important to me and I make sure that I get this information well in advance from guests.
Key collection -- As some accommodations use a variety of door unlocking mechanisms, your best bet is to get this information in advance, as the last thing you want is to be waiting for the owner to arrive in the rain and shivering. If you are heading to a hotel or motel, this shouldn’t be an issue for you.
Quirks/Need to Know Information -- If the rental is on someone’s property or a private house, make sure to understand the little ‘quirks’ of the rental. Examples include: a certain way to jimmy the lock to open it; gate code; how to turn on xyz, etc. This is something that the owner should provide to you well beforehand. We have a fantastic ‘Welcome Guide’ that we provide guests and it has heaps of relevant information regarding the appliances in the rental, ‘things to do’, local maps of the area, amongst other information. Guests appreciate this, and they can read it at their leisure.
2. Activities or no activities?
Since this is a couples holiday, some couples may opt to just spend time with each other and only venture out when needed. Other couples, on the other hand, want to make the most of their time away, so they prefer to get thick into activities. Whatever your preference, it pays to do a bit of research about the area and any fun activities nearby. Fig Tree Retro Studio has compiled a list of ‘things to do near Pottsville NSW’ that has something for everyone – the beach, theatre, gallery, golf, shows…whatever tickles your fancy. Given that we are located smack dab between the Gold Coast and Byron Bay, there is always something to do!
3. Use the day before your check-out to relax and unwind:
We’ve all been there…we are on holidays and its go, go, go! We pack everything in, so we can get the most out of our time away. However, as we all know, that leaves us feeling burnt out. So, it makes sense to use the day before your check-out to relax and unwind. Simple as that! That way, you go home refreshed and rejuvenated! And that is the secret to getting the most out of a fantastic Pottsville Beach couples holiday!
If by chance you fancy a stay at a retro studio with elements from the 50s through to the 60s, then our sunny little studio might just be the ticket...find our more here.
